Two bands today one new and one classic...thats what they call things that have too much pride to just die.
If you have yet to hear the band Air I suggest that you go out and pick up their new album Pocket Symphony, it's the ultimate chill out music. One of my biggest problems is that most of the time when I'm working on something and have music playing at the same time I get too caught up in the song. If the music that I'm listening to has a loud up-beat tempo, or catchy lyrics I often forget what I'm doing to listen to the song. Now not saying that Air makes songs that are easy to forget or don't have a good rhythm but if you want to tune them out...you can. The other thing that may interest the male side of the gender spectrum is that Air makes some GREAT make out music. Some of their early songs are a mix of late 70's porn music and techno/ambient ballads.
The other band has been a favorite of mine for a while now but I just started listening to them again. Originally called Imagica back in 1999. The synthesized rock songs of The Birthday Massacre bring a whole new meaning to the word "techno". Now I know that you could categorize them as synth/alternative rock gothic electronica, but really...its techno without the headache after an hour of listing to it. The band has released two albums since '99, the latest being Violet in 2004. This is by far the better of the two albums with a good mix of amazing guitar riffs, mellow sounds and just enough keyboard to make things right.
That's all for now. Just try some music.
